The New York Rangers took their six game winning streak to the Coliseum tonight and took advantage of the slumping Islanders en route to a 4-2 victory on Long Island. The biggest play of the game came when Brad Richards notched his 6th goal of the season with just under five minutes left to play in regulation to put the Rangers up 3-2, a lead which they would not give up. Ryan Callahan added an empty netter to give the Rangers the 4-2 win.

Coming off of his best game since returning to the Rangers' lineup, Sean Avery tallied the first goal of the game with just over five minutes left in the opening frame. The Rangers, who hadn't played since Friday night at MSG, controlled the pace of play for most of the game, but did give up their share of scoring chances as Henrik Lundqvist came up huge on numerous occasions and finished the night with 31 saves.

Notes:

Hank continues his strong play between the pipes.

Since Brad Richards began dating actress Olivia Munn, the Rangers are 7-0-0.

The Islanders are 1-7-3 in their last 11 games and currently sit in last place in the Eastern Conference with 11 points.
